Brand domain
Set up a custom subdomain for branded links to videos, voice memos, and shared content
What is a brand domain?#
A brand domain lets you use your own subdomain for all the links you share with clients. Instead of generic links, your videos, voice memos, and other shared content will use your branded URL - like go.yourcompany.com.
This keeps your brand front and center and makes your links instantly recognizable to clients.
Why set up a brand domain?#
- Brand recognition - Clients see your domain, not a third-party URL
- Professional appearance - Branded links look more polished and trustworthy
- Consistent experience - All your shared content stays on-brand
What uses your brand domain?#
Once configured, your custom subdomain is used for:
- Video messages you share
- Voice memos
- Other short URLs and shared content
How to set it up#
You'll need access to your domain's DNS settings to add a CNAME record. This is typically managed through your domain registrar (like GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Cloudflare) or your web hosting provider.
Choose your subdomain
Decide what subdomain you'd like to use. We recommend go (e.g.,
go.yourcompany.com), but you can choose something else like links or
share.
Open your DNS settings
Log into your domain registrar or DNS provider and navigate to your DNS settings or DNS management page.
Add the CNAME record
Create a new DNS record with these values:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | CNAME |
| Name | go (or your chosen subdomain) |
| Value | cname.currentclient.io |
| TTL | 86400 (or "Auto" if that's an option) |
The "Name" field is just the subdomain part - enter go, not go.yourcompany.com. Your DNS provider will automatically append your domain.
Save and wait for propagation
Save your DNS changes. DNS propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours, though it's usually pretty quick.
Enter your domain in CurrentClient
Back in your workspace settings, enter your brand domain (e.g., go.yourcompany.com). Click Save and then Refresh to verify the connection.
Verifying your setup#
After adding the CNAME record and configuring it in CurrentClient, use the Refresh button to check verification status. If it shows "Not verified," give it a bit more time for DNS propagation and try again.
DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate, though most updates are visible within an hour or two.

- GoDaddy - My Products β DNS β Manage Zones
- Namecheap - Domain List β Manage β Advanced DNS
